After nearly a decade as an artist and supervisor at Industrial Light & Magic, I transitioned to teaching full-time at Academy of Art University. This was after teaching many workshops for artists at ILM, and a few part-time classes at NYU and AAU. I continued to progress in my career in higher education as Chair of the Visual Effects program at Savannah College of Art and Design…and then, I got recruited back to Lucasfilm…to run their Jedi Masters Program apprenticeship and all training for their new integrated animation, visual effects, and game studio in Singapore. 

And that pattern of alternating between teaching at universities, and working in learning and development at entertainment studios has continued ever since! My students are working at studios around the globe, and seeing their names in the credits of movies, television shows, and video games makes me even more proud than seeing my own name up on the screen.
